The Company
Joseph Turner began selling shirts in 1997 when, as a regular
wearer of business shirts, I was becoming increasingly annoyed at
the price one had to pay for quality Jermyn Street style shirts.
Having a financial background, I was convinced that much of the
grossly inflated price was paying for expensive retail outlets and
boardroom salaries, rather than quality attire. I have since proved
this to be true - hence the concept of selling exceptional shirts
directly to customers, and passing on the savings.
Based in Yorkshire, with a heritage rooted in the textile
industry, we have amassed a considerable knowledge of fine shirt
making materials and the tailoring skills these require. The result
is a collection of impeccable shirts for business and less formal
occasions, together with a distinctive range of gentlemen’s
accessories, all sensibly priced due to minimum overheads.
The Products
All our shirts are skilfully tailored from the finest pure
two-fold cotton, as prized by world class shirtmakers for its
silk-like feel. Our attention to detail is obsessive - from the
single-needle stitching and four-piece split yokes to the two-piece
interlined collar and lock-stitched buttons. In fact, you'll find
all the features you'd expect in a luxury shirt, except for one -
the surprisingly keen price.
The same obsession with detail and quality also goes into our
collection of gentlemen’s accessories, from pure Italian silk
ties and cashmere jumpers to English-made leather shoes. Whenever
we add to our collection, it is always the result of a painstaking
search for the best supplier who can achieve our own standards to
provide exceptional quality at sensible prices.
Finding the shirt for you should be easy - with a wide range of
fabrics, a dozen size combinations, a choice of double or single
cuffs and the option of a breast pocket, you can be sure of a shirt
tailored exactly to your needs.
Thank you for your interest in Joseph Turner and I hope that we
can be of service to you in the near future.
