Summer Edit – Men’s Knitwear

Weather can be unpredictable, especially in the UK, so knitwear definitely has its uses during the MKMEVNTEA_5warmer months. This season we have a variety of different men’s knitwear styles that are perfect to keep on hand in case the weather turns.

When we think of wool jumpers we immediately think of winter, but they can be worn all year round. Depending on the weather, you will need to consider the best type of wool for your needs.

Merino: With its perfect drape, crease resistance and lustre, it is clear to see why it is the most luxurious of wools. Its natural qualities will keep you cool and fresh in the sunshine and will provide warmth without the weight in the evenings.

Lambswool: It is comfortable all year round because it is an absorbent fibre that helps regulate body temperature. When the air is cool and damp, wool absorbs moisture and keeps a layer of dry, insulating air next to the skin. When it is warm, the same absorption capacity takes up perspiration allowing the body’s natural cooling system to work better.

Reasons to wear wool in summer

Odor eliminating. Wool has antibacterial qualities, meaning it manages odour far better than synthetics and other natural fibres.

Keeps you cool. Wool is renowned for it’s superior insulation qualities. But it works both ways. To keep the heat out and the sun off your skin, why not choose a looser fitting wool jumper.

Hypoallergenic. Wool repels dust and does not contain any harsh chemicals.
